A) Blackout* during school hours – morning/afternoon
- In the event of a power failure, it is important to remain calm and go to the main classrooms with the classes (attendance check). There is no immediate, acute danger at the school – calm and prudence are the greatest assets in such an exceptional situation.
- “Improvised” lessons according to the timetable until 1:50 pm at the latest. Since this takes place in regular rooms, it is possible that several teachers are in one room with one class – please stay in the room together for the time being.
- Dismissal after blackout dismissal management. Class list with answers to the letters to parents will be brought to the classes as quickly as possible by the emergency team. Conscientious documentation is important: If students are picked up by parents or guardians, please make sure to note who went with whom, when (only persons authorized to pick up).
- After 1:50 p.m., students who have not yet been picked up will be taken to collection points: Lower School to the TABE area, Upper School to the Bernoulli Lounge area.
- The food supply is ensured by the Hertha Firnberg schools.
B) Blackout at school events
If students are at a school event (school trip, excursions, project days, …) in the event of a blackout, they should return to school with the entire group of students if possible (= contact point for parents); if this is not possible, the nearest police station should be contacted; they will decide on the further procedure. School operations will only be resumed after explicit instructions from the Education Directorate or the BMBWF (pay attention to media coverage and announcements, especially on the radio).
