BERNOULLIGYMNASIUM – The school building

The Bernoullig Gymnasium, designed by Arch.Dr.Roland Rainer, was opened in 1970 as the first grammar school in Donaustadt. The location is characterized by the combination of a quiet green area and a very diverse infrastructure. The multi-structured building of the type of a hall school is designed as a reinforced concrete structure and offers a variety of different spaces. The surrounding green space is a key design element. Although it is a listed building, it has undergone a series of metamorphoses since its construction, so that the appearance of the entrance area in particular has changed considerably. The interior is also currently undergoing a constant design process in order to adapt the existing rooms – with the active participation of the pupils – to the successively changing needs and thus make the building a place of learning – living – laughing.

BernoulliGymnasium assumed responsibility for the construction of a new general secondary school (AHS) in Donaustadt in September 2022. The development quarter, better known as the BernoulliCampus, comprises a total of 14 state-of-the-art classrooms and is a pioneering project that will have a lasting impact on the educational landscape in the district.

With a clear view to the future, this impressive project is initially planned for a period of 5 years before the gates of the new AHS in Donaustadt are officially opened. We are using this period of time to create a first-class learning environment and to provide pupils with an optimal basis for their academic development.

We are particularly proud of the fact that all classrooms at the Bernoulli Campus are equipped with state-of-the-art technology. This includes interactive whiteboards, air conditioning and heating units as well as an inviting roof garden, which not only broadens the students’ horizons but also creates an inspiring place for breaks and joint activities.

Together we are shaping the future of education at BernoulliGymnasium – innovative, inspiring and individually supportive for each student.
