Letter to parents (5.2.2021): School operation from 8.2.2021
Vienna, on 5.2.2021
Dear parents!
Since my last information letter of 29.1.2021, in which I provided you with the latest information, there are completely new framework conditions for the start of school on 8.2.2021. Education Minister Faßmann apologized for this approach at the press conference on 2.2.2021. As of Thursday, February 4, 2021, I can provide you with the following information on the start of school after the semester break:
Lower and upper school have face-to-face lessons in shifts
- Group A is in class on Monday and Tuesday, the test takes place on Monday at school.
- Group B is in class on Wednesday and Thursday, the test takes place on Wednesday at school.
- In the following week, the groups alternate days in face-to-face lessons. Group B is in face-to-face lessons on Monday and Tuesday, the test takes place on Monday at school, etc.
- Students with a positive test result must be picked up. Parents should contact 1450 immediately.
- Pupils who have not given their consent by the start of the test (pupils under 14 years of age) or who refuse to take the test will not be allowed to take part in face-to-face lessons.
- On Fridays, there are no face-to-face lessons in the lower and upper school, but distance learning.
- The group allocation can be found in the appendix and on the school homepage. A change in the group allocation will only be made for siblings (also across schools) in order to minimize the care requirements of the parents. For organizational reasons, we are unable to fulfill requests from parents or guardians for changes for other reasons. On school days on which there are no in-person lessons for a group, the pupils in this group are in non-residential lessons for the duration of the timetabled lessons for the class.
Compulsory tests for participation in classroom teaching: Monday and Wednesday are test days (quick tests)
Pupils must complete an anterio-nasal self-test (“nose pick test”) at the school site in order to participate in lessons or supervision. The tests are provided at the school site. Pupils test themselves on the first day of attendance at school (face-to-face teaching or supervision).
If pupils or legal guardians of under-14-year-olds do not consent to testing at the school, it is not possible to participate in face-to-face lessons. In this case, the childcare offer cannot be used either. In this case, parents should inform the head of the class in advance. If you have not yet submitted the declaration of consent for self-testing, please give it to your child no later than the morning of the first day of school after the semester break. Pupils who cannot be tested remain in home schooling, i.e. independent work with assignments.
On the test days (Monday and Wednesday), all students who have lessons in the 1st period will be in their regular class at 8:00 a.m., i.e. not in the BE or gymnasium, for example.
- Group A starts on Monday, 8.2. 2021 in the 1st hour,
- Group B starts on Wednesday, 10.2.2021 in the 1st hour.
- Masks compulsory: MNS and FFP2
- Lower level: mouth-nose protection (MNS) mandatory, FFP2 mask recommended
- Upper school: FFP2 mask mandatory
- Day care remains in place during shift operation.
- Childcare offer
BernoulliGymnasium offers childcare (8:00 am to 1:45 pm) and daycare (1:45 pm to 5:10 pm) for Lower School students for the days on which they are in non-residential lessons (at home).
