Letter to parents lower school (15.11.2020)

Dear parents!

As you have probably already seen in the media, Federal Minister Heinz Faßmann announced at the press conference on 14.11.2020 that from Tuesday, 17.11.2020 to 4.12.2020 there will be no regular lessons, but distance learning (distance learning, homeschooling). Since Monday, 7.12.2020 is an autonomous day off at BernoulliGymnasium and Tuesday, 8.12.2020 is a public holiday, a return to regular school operations is planned for Wednesday, 9.12.2020.

  • Pupils will generally switch to distance learning from Tuesday, 17.11.2020. However, our school will remain open for childcare (8:00 to 13:45) and daycare (13:45 to 17:10). You can register your child for childcare (possible by the hour) for the period Tuesday, 17.11. – Friday, 20.11.2020 by Monday, 16.11.2020 15:00 at the latest via the linkhttps://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=egLDRN1bRke0EHjB7xRDgYV5RAStzPJBuarDld83q2VUMFo5UURKVElTUlRZVVRDNVdUSzlGQllYTS4u All students, regardless of the professional background of their parents or guardians, can take advantage of this care and support. It is also advisable to make use of this support if the situation at home is causing serious disadvantages for pupils.
  • Monday, 16.11.2020 is considered a “transition day”; on this day, preparations are made for the switch to remote teaching. The preparatory work includes, among other things, the organizational and content-related introduction of the pupils to learning in non-remote lessons, informing parents about these lessons and assessing needs regarding care and support at the school.
  • The school buffet is still regularly open on Monday 16.11.2020 (incl. lunch). However, from Tuesday, 17.11.2020 the operation will be discontinued. The vending machines will continue to be available and will be refilled regularly.
  • If your child does not have a digital device at his/her disposal, please inform the head of the class (if this has not already been done).
  • The focus of the work packages in all subjects in the teaching days up to 9.12.2020 is on consolidating what has already been learned. New content can also be taught if it is pedagogically justifiable and feasible.
  • The parents’ consultation day on Tuesday, 1.12.2020 is canceled. (Virtual) consultation hours between teachers and parents/guardians can be held as a video conference or using electronic communication.
  • Schoolwork is postponed. If this is not possible, they can be canceled if a reliable assessment is possible by other means (e.g. cooperation).
  • From Tuesday 17.11.2020, all persons in the school building must wear a mouth and nose protector (MNS). The use of face shields (so-called “face shields” or “mini face shields”) is not permitted.
  • As in the spring, we will set up a “handover/drop-off system” in the assembly hall between 07:30 and 14:00, where you will have the opportunity to pick up announced work assignments and hand in completed tasks in compliance with the hygiene regulations (e.g. minimum distance of one meter).
