LETTER TO PARENTS LOWER SCHOOL (4.5.2020)

Dear parents!

Hopefully you and your loved ones have come through the corona crisis safely so far. On Monday, May 18, 2020, lessons in the lower school will start again under the following conditions:

  • Shift operation and group division: Each class is divided into two groups, Group A and Group B. These groups alternate between lessons and time off. You will find the division for your child in the appendix.
  • Days on which pupils do not have lessons are called “homework days”. It is possible to register your child for compulsory supervision at the school on these days.
  • Afternoon lessons (from the 7th hour) are canceled. No lunchtime supervision.
  • Pupils who are registered for daycare can also be looked after at school in the afternoon. It has not yet been clarified how daycare will be billed.
  • Up-to-date timetable. It remains to be seen whether lessons in music education or physical education and sport will take place.
  • Changes to the timetable are communicated via WebUntis.
  • Legal guardians who do not want to send their children to school due to concerns do not have to do so. They are considered excused, but are obliged to submit a reason to the school and to catch up on the missed material or make up for it. The “Absence request” form (see appendix) must be completed for this purpose.
  • No schoolwork
  • Excused absences
“The application of the provisions on unexcused absences will also be extended for this school year. Pupils who are unable to attend lessons at school due to the corona crisis or if parents or guardians do not want to send their children to school due to concerns do not have to do so. They are considered excused, but are obliged to catch up on the missed material or make up for it.” (BM Faßmann, 24.4.2020)
  • If your child is ill or shows signs of illness (cold, cough, slight cold, …) he/she must stay at home.
  • Your child must wear a face mask when arriving at school.
  • The school opens at 7:30 a.m. to avoid large gatherings of people.
  • The reopening of the buffet has not yet been clarified. Please check the school website for the latest information.
  • Friday, 22.5.2020, is a day off from school. If you would like childcare (1st – 5th lesson) for your child, please note this on the enclosed form.

With this letter you will receive the group allocation for your child. You will then know the lesson days and the “homework days” until the end of the school year. You must also inform the head of the class by Thursday, May 7, 2020 at the latest using the enclosed form,

  • whether you register your child for care on “homework days”
  • whether you are registering your child for paid daycare
  • whether you register your child for childcare (1st – 5th hour) on the day off from school, 22.5.2020
  • whether your child is absent from class

Please visit our school website regularly and look out for information and announcements from BernoulliGymnasium on the homepage
