New Covid regulations from 21.3.2022 in the school sector
- In future, K1 contact persons will no longer be segregated, but will only be subject to traffic restrictions (nationwide requirement). As a result, the Vienna health authorities will no longer impose partial closures.
- In future, K1 contact persons may continue to visit schools even if there are several cases in a class group, provided that the measures (mask, testing) are observed.
- The traffic restriction of K1 contact persons is also valid for school events lasting one or more days and school-related events (cinema/theater visits, school swimming, school trips, etc.).
- If one or more PCR-confirmed cases occur in a class/group, all persons in this class/group must wear a mask (FFP2 from the age of 14) for 5 days in the entire school building, including at the seat and during sports lessons. In addition, all persons in this class/group must be tested daily for this period (if possible with PCR, except for those who have recovered for 60 days). If there is no further positive case in the class group for five consecutive days, these measures end and the usual requirements for compulsory masks and testing apply again.
- The “School information sheet” or, if the persons are to be classified as K1 contact persons, the information sheet for “K1 contact persons” must be issued as information for the parents/guardians.
