As announced in the parents’ letter 2024, we are introducing the WebUntis messaging system as mandatory in all classes this school year. Detailed instructions can be found in the documents “WebUntis instructions”, “WebUntis initial registration” and “WebUntis password reset” (appendix).

  • Obligation: At least one parent/guardian account per student

At least one parent per child is required to have an active WebUntis account. You can find out how to create a WebUntis account with the e-mail address you have on file at the school in the “WebUntis initial registration” instructions.

  • Obligation: Daily from 3 p.m. Checking the timetable for the following day and the news

Parents are obliged to look at the timetable for the following school day once a day after 15:00 and check the messages. At this point in time, the foreseeable lesson cancellations for the following school day are visible; these are hereby deemed to have been communicated to the parents. For parents with children in 2nd, 3rd or 4th grade, there is therefore no need to write a confirmation that a 5th or 6th lesson has been canceled.
In the 1st grade there will – as before – be no cancellation of lessons up to and including the 6th lesson. No confirmation was previously required for the absence of afternoon lessons (from the 7th lesson); this was deemed to have been communicated via the WebUntis timetable.

  • Messages with read confirmation

Some messages are provided with a read confirmation. You can find out how to send a read receipt to a teacher’s message in the “WebUntis instructions” document.

  • Reporting the absence of a child

Parents/guardians must report their child’s absence to the school before 8:00 am:

  • by calling the secretary’s office on 01/2032355 (as before) or
  • by making an entry in WebUntis – this entry replaces the submission of an excuse form for the reported period of absence.

You can find out how to report your child’s absence in WebUntis in the document “WebUntis instructions”.

Important

For absences that have not been reported in WebUntis, you must send the class teacher an excuse form, a corresponding e-mail or an informal letter of apology.

  • Contacting teachers

Teachers can send you messages via WebUntis and e-mail. However, parents can only contact teachers by e-mail or telephone 01/2032355-26. You can find out how to find the list of teachers’ e-mail addresses in the document “WebUntis instructions”.

  • Support

If you need support, please do not hesitate to contact the WebUntis support team [email protected].

This new regulation will apply from Monday, 7.10.2024.
